Partial redesign of Fungible Convictions underway

While the overall look will stay the same, it’s been about two years since I examined WordPress’ plugin repository and, now, its widgets. The main big goal at this point—consisting of some high-level fc_loop work—is to get two to four recent posts to follow in two columns below the photos (themselves below the main post).

I’ll list the improvements later but wanted to give a quick hat tip to Alax.info for helping me tweak the Google Talk widget. For anyone interested, you can now IM me any time I’m online using the “Chat with Andrew Whitacre” link in the sidebar.

is there anything you can do to improve the formatting on rss feeds? (or it just might be google reader, i’m not sure?)

some posts show up great but this one is just one mashed up paragraph while the last one only had a one of the youtubes imbeded.

of course if this is a giant hassle then it probably doesn’t matter.

Hey J…Seamus. That happened, I think, because I forgot to place paragraph tags in the excerpt. (WordPress lets you define an excerpt for each post that then is what an RSS feed picks up, rather than the entire post.)

So, no, it shouldn’t be too hard to fix. I just have to remember to use HTML in the excerpt box. This post should be fixed at least, a least once Reader picks up the feed again.
