Life is what you do in between checking e-mail.

That’s today’s axiom, but, lordy, does it ever feel that way sometimes.

Maybe for lent I’ll give up checking e-mail obsessively. I wonder what else I can use to mark the passing of time.

    Just now I was matching socks just out of the dryer. Every time I found a match, I hummed the ditty from Duck Hunt for when you shoot a duck and the dog rises out of the grass with it.
